Tom Urich, a 1962 graduate with a dual major of Radio and Television (BFA) and a music degree, was presented the first EVA PARNELL SUPERIOR ACHIEVEMENT AWARD at the CCM Reunion Banquet Saturday evening, June 24.

Tom has appeared in more than 100 musicals, several outstanding roles on Broadway productions.  In addition, he has an outstanding career in television soaps plus other features such as Matlock, Jag, The Practice, Vegas, Beverly Hills 90210, Jake and The Fatman.  He also had roles in Another Life, All My Children, The Doctors, and Another World.  Tom has also appeared with many national and regional tours.

Charlie Plummer ('61) served as Master of Ceremonies and made the special presentation to Tom Urich.  A very unique crystal plaque was presented to the first recipient.  After the presentation, Tom spoke of his dedication to his career and how much Eva Parnell had influenced his life and career.  He spoke of the long hours of study that he had with Miss Parnell.  It was obvious that Tom was deeply moved with being chosen as the first recipient of this award.

Tom is married to Judy McCauley Urich, also a music major graduate of CCM.  Judy, who graduated a year before Tom,  has also had a tremendous career in acting and musical production… some with her husband Tom.
